Balboa Lender-Placed Insurance Veteran John Meadows
Shares Expertise in Jan. 2007
Servicing Management Cover Story

Balboa’s Senior Vice President of Lender-Placed Hazard Insurance, John Meadows, has  contributed the cover story for the January 2007 issue of Servicing Management, a key trade periodical for the mortgage servicing industry. His article addresses the growing challenges servicers face in effectively managing risk in their portfolios. Meadows’ discussion focuses on what servicing managers can do in 2007 to identify and mitigate the impact of higher-risk properties in their lender-placed portfolios.

The impact of higher-risk properties on a company’s overall portfolio is a key issue facing the mortgage servicing industry today,” explained Meadows. “What we haven’t seen is a thorough discussion of the new processes and products available to the servicing industry today to mitigate concentration of risk. That is what I address in the article.”

“In my article,” he continued, “I mentioned that an ‘innovative lender-placed carrier can offer products that take into account relevant property-specific risk characteristics to determine premium rates.’ Lenders should know that Balboa’s risk-based program offers them the type of leading-edge solution I describe.”

“We are pleased to offer our clients the innovative processes and technologies which very few other trackers can provide,” said Craig Carson, Balboa’s chief marketing officer. “Meadows is a seasoned executive and his lender-placed insurance products are second-to-none. We are pleased he will be able to share his expertise with a nationwide audience.”
